Catalina Wherry

This is a custom design based on the New Jersey Seabright Skiff. They were originally used to harvest salmon from floating traps but eventually developed into a live saving boat as the beaches along the New Jersey shore turned into summer tourist destinations. Their narrow flat bottom was ideal for launching and landing into the surf.

Our client had a number of unique requests for convertable furniture intended to facilitate his beach camping interests.

Materials: Marine plywood hull, Yellow cedar and fir backbone. White oak trim.

Specs are approximate: Length: 15’6″; Beam: 50”; Weight: 200 lbs
